Saturday 5th October - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny periods.

Walk 1 – Felixstowe Ferry.

I had to queue up with loads of old people at 9.45 to get my flu and covid jab at our doctors, what a top service it was too and was back home by 10:) I then decided to head down to Felixstowe Ferry to snap a few weather pics and got there just in time to watch the kids set off for their Saturday morning dinghy racing, the wind was fairly light and the tide was whizzing in too, at this point it was fairly cloudy too! Drove back via The Fludyers where loads of open water dippers were taking the plunge in the flat sea. Mag was still busy seeving her compost, she just loves doing that! Photos sorted, then breakfast in the garden as the sun makes an appearance turning the day nice and warm. Mag then makes a huge shepards pie with me doing the mash before heading back into the garden to do my exercises and chop some kindling.

Walk 2 – Cordys Lane Curcuit.

As the weather was so nice and the forecast breeze had failed to arrive we decided to make a flask and drive to Cordys Lane in Trimley for a walk and have our cuppa with a nice view down to the Orwell over rolling Suffolk farmland. The car park was packed but we were lucky that someone was just leaving so we parked and headed down the lane towards Trimley Marshes. The seat we wanted was taken but found another which was OK even if it was in the shade! After our cuppa and snack we did not want to walk too far so after a bit turned right and did the dog walkers circuit, in fact we saw loads of dog walkers, we were the only ones out walking without a dog! The highlight was spotting 4 dragonflies taking in the sunshine on a log and the ivy plant in bloom was full of loads of different bees and wasps, spotted a butterfly too! We completed the loop and headed back to Felixstowe driving to the cliff top car park to check the wind and yes it was light! Home for a cuppa and the lovely Mag makes my Birthday cake for tomorrow, might even get a windsurf foil too:)
